Client Business Need/ Problem:

Customer needed a business continuity solution to provide voice communications, high speed data, and integrated wireless coverage to a group of end users in the event that one of their facilities was impacted by a catastrophic failure rendering their existing facility unusable.


GDS Solution:

GDS developed a mobile response unit for this client to accommodate employee workspace and mobile communications in a portable trailer unit that could be deployed anywhere in the state. GDS developed this solution to allow remote locations to function in a "business as usual" fashion with a completely self-contained footprint.

Result:

Following Hurricane Gustav, GDS deployed a mobile response unit to the client's Plaquemines location which suffered extensive flooding due to storm surge. Despite the fact that the local telephone company infrastructure was devastated, employees were staying local to protect and repair their homes, and the fact that the power infrastructure was out for weeks, the client continued to have seemless voice and data communications in a secure climate controlled environment allowing them to conduct business as usual when their services were most valuable to their customers.
