The position of Marketing Communications Coordinator Intern produces creative graphics, sketches, designs, and copy layout for all online and print content. This position will also design, develop and process most of GDS’ sales and marketing collateral, including the graphical appearance for the corporate Internet, intranet, electronic newsletters and email templates, and other high visibility items. Maintains and provides ongoing design and updates to the corporate website and intranet, promotions and ad banners, seasonal content specials and custom web-based applications for business partners and customers.Roles and Responsibilities
The ideal candidate is a team player who is able to work well with others across virtually all departments within the company, multi-task and complete projects on short time frames. This position is responsible for assisting in the design and development of the following:
- Corporate sales and marketing collateral across multiple medium and formats
- Print ads and banner ads for the Internet, intranet and extranets
- Corporate website and intranet
- Email and newsletter templates
- Proposal templates and other high visibility collateral
- Graphics for tradeshow booths of different sizes corporate website, intranet and other HTML and/or XML based applications.
- Banner ads for the above mentioned medium
- Content updates to corporate website, intranet, and other HTML/XML based applications used internally within GDS
- HTML/XML based collateral such as email and newsletter templates
- Proposal templates and other customer facing collateralsd
Processes to update, refresh and upload content for all the above.
In addition, the position will also
- Work with ad agencies, printers and vendors to ensure production is on time and within budget
- Work closely with internal IT staff to ensure the technical feasibility of uploading content to web and or HTML based collateral.
- Work closely with marketing and business development teams of new product launches announcements, and customer and corporate events.
- Report on site visits and web traffic of aforementioned HTML/XML based applications.
- Provide recommendations and suggestion to optimize search engine placement.
- Developing content for sales/marketing collaterals and other forms of communications.
- Develop processes for and perform updates, refreshes and uploads to contents for all the above.
The Marketing Communications position reports to the Manager of Business Development and Marketing.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate must possess the following:
- Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Business, Mass Communications, Advertising, Media Relations or other related field.
- Excellent oral, written and presentation skills.
- Excellent understanding and usage of Adobe Photoshop, Quark or other graphics design software.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Visio.
- Familiar with HTML and XML a plus, but not required.
- Familiar with Visual Studio.net and MS Front Page a plus, but not required.
- Positive, "can-do attitude" in a fast-paced environment
- Team players only.
