Project Coordinator

Position Summary:

The Project Coordinator assists Project Managers and Lead Engineers with assigning resources that have the proper skills and capabilities to positively impact specific projects/clients. The Project Coordinator maintains a resource calendar which reflects individual employee assignment status and is a tool for maximizing resource utilization. The Project Coordinator manages smaller scale projects and is responsible for forecasting revenue and ensuring timely billing on those projects. This individual must understand the skill set, competencies, and certifications of the Professional Services resources in order to properly meet customers’ needs. The Project Coordinator interacts heavily with customers and employees across multiple departments.

  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, both oral and written, and ability to work with a variety of personality types
  • Ability to multi-task, manage multiple priorities, and coordinate customer needs
  • Strong financial skills and ability to generate reports and information
  • Proficient in MS Office and MS Project

Contribution/Leadership:

  • Deploys professional services staff on billable engagements
  • Coordinates with Project Managers, Lead Engineers, and Account Managers to ensure appropriate skill levels and cost goals are met
  • Gathers, organizes, and maintains information regarding skills, assignments, and billing
  • Works with resources to become knowledgeable regarding specific skills, capabilities, experiences, and certifications of each resource
  • Monitors availability of key skills across the Professional Services organization and provides input to Management regarding anticipated shortfalls
  • Works with Executive Management to provide appropriate reporting and distribute information regarding current and future business and staffing

Impact on Business/Scope:

  • Drives the resource utilization/allocation for Professional Services
  • Monitors resources costs relative to revenue and profit goals
  • Responsible for ensuring billable engagements are properly accounted for

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Minimum of 3 - 5 years of experience in business operations, Project Management, or other related field
  • Heavy experience in communication and negotiation across organizations

Compensation: Dependent on experience
